How To Generate HAR Files
Overview
During troubleshooting, Technical Support may need HAR files generated by the browser you use for BarTender Cloud.
This article will teach you how to do this, based on your browser.

Information
Before you send your HAR files to Support, please compress and zip them.
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome and go to the page where the issue occurs.
- Look for the ⋮ button at the top-right and select More Tools > Developer Tools.
- Select the Network tab from the panel. You must keep the menu open while you reproduce the issue.
- Look for a round record button in the upper-left corner of the tab and ensure it is red. If it is grey, click the button once to start recording.
- Check the Preserve log box.
- Click the grey crossed circle (Clear network logs) button to the right of the record button to clear existing logs from the Network tab.
- Reproduce the issue while the network requests record.
- Click the download button and then Export HAR (sanitized).
- Make sure the file type is HAR and click Save. Make sure you note the save location.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Firefox and go to the page where the issue occurs.
- Open the Network Monitor.
- Reproduce the issue while the network requests record.
- Right-click anywhere under the File column and click Save All As HAR. Make sure you note the save location.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Edge and go to the page where the issue occurs.
- Open the Network tool.
- Make sure that you're on the Network tab and that recording is on.
- Reproduce the issue while the network requests record.
- Click the Download button and save your captured traffic as an HAR file. Make sure you note the save location.
