BarTender On-Premises v12.0 – Release Notes
February 2026
BarTender® v12.0 delivers targeted enhancements that support more precise control over label printing and increased reliability in dynamic printing environments. This release continues our focus on helping organizations maintain operational efficiency while adapting to evolving printing needs.

The release will be deployed on February 20, 2026.
Note
BarTender documentation for new features (in-app help, online help, and technical documents) are only available in English. In addition, the Intelligent Forms feature is only available in English at this time. Additional languages will be added in a later release.
What’s New
Enhanced Label Alignment Controls: New controls on the Print page allow for precise manipulation of horizontal and vertical offsets, enabling accurate label placement directly from the Print page.
Notes:
- Drivers have been updated to include this feature and the new versions will need to be installed.
- In a later updates, users will be able to specify horizontal and vertical offset values in Print Station and Print Portal, and when submitting a print job using the REST API or SDK.
Intelligent Forms for On-Prem Subscription (Automation and above): BarTender now enables users to access the new Intelligent Forms Designer from the BarTender Cloud Librarian environment once their BarTender instance is linked using the Hybrid Cloud. The new forms enable you to build a simple form with basic functionality using predefined fields that can be manipulated at print time. A single form can be reused across multiple labels and printers.
To access the new Forms Designer, you must first set up the BarTender Hybrid Cloud using the Admin Console.
- VDA Templates Updated and New Templates Created: A set of new and updated VDA (automotive) label templates, previously created to align BarTender’s template library with current market and regulatory requirements (and released in BarTender Cloud), is included in this release.
- License and Maintenance Renewals Dates Correctly Displayed: The banner notifications in BarTender Designer, Print Portal, and Print Station for license and maintenance renewals now display the correct date for the end of a subscription. Any grace period active after the end of the subscription displays in a separate banner.
Minor Fixes
This release includes a series of refinements that contribute to overall platform reliability and consistency:
- When printing from the Integration Platform using the Database Override print option (or BTXML embedded delimited text), the CDATA control characters in the trigger file or BTXML embedded text no longer print as literal characters.
- The “Remember selection for next time” setting in Print Portal now functions correctly when using a data entry form with a multiple-column dropdown list.
- Recurring CPU spikes to 100% from using Printer Maestro with BarTender 2022 no longer occur.
- Print Portal and Print Station now correctly open a BarTender template displaying the printer saved in the BarTender document instead of the default Windows printer.
