How to Find the BarTender License Server on your Network
Question
How do I find which computer or server is hosting my license?
Answer
Follow the below steps to identify your BarTender license server:
- Open Administration Console on any computer with an active BarTender installation.
- Select Licensing from the left-hand menu.
- Once the list populates, you should see a support number listed under Current License.
- Here you will be able to see all of your licenses as well as the license servers hosting them:
- Current License and Current License Server: Shows the license that this BarTender instance is currently activated against as well as the server hosting that license. A Bartender instance can only be linked to a single license at any given time.
- Server: This column shows the name of the computer on your network which is acting as the license server for a particular license.
- IP: The corresponding IP address for the license server. If you opened Administration Console on a license server the IP address for that server will be followed by the tag (local).
- Server Access: If you opened Administration Console on your license server you can configure access permissions for the license server from this section.
If you have found the server name and IP address in Administration Console but you are unable to match these to the corresponding computer on your network you will need to reach out to your network administrator.
