Format Text Field, Limit characters displayed

Hello,

I am trying to design a label, and I am using excel to import data. It is a small label and I need to make room for fields. When adding a couple of data fields, the content is larger (longer) than I want to display. For example, the data is 50 characters long, I want to only display 25 characters. I tried using the  text wrap in properties, but it just pushes the text down and won't let me change the box dimensions. Not sure how proceed. How can I set a field to display a specific dimension, and cut off any text that spill over?

  In the Auto Fit tab of the Text Properties, you can set the height and width of the field you want and if you disable/untick the  Adjust Font Point Size then the text will say the same size as the font size you have set:

  

  If you want a fixed number of characters you could also use the Transforms>Number of Characters option from the Data Source area
