Set global data field value using script

Hello,

I have a global data field whose value I would like to update with some script (it doesn't matter if it is VBA or Powershell), but I didn't find how to do it.

Does someone know if it is possible?

To give a little bit of context, my global variable is a serialized number, and sometimes it doesn't increment properly and I have to reincrement it manually. I would like to be able to run a script to reincrement properly when this problem arises.

I thought also to update it directly in the database, but it is stored in some kind of blob.

  I believe the Global Data Sources are Text only objects and cannot be set to VB.
