Choosing Barcode and assigning number

Hi Guys,

New to the barcode world and trying to understand what would be our best option.

We are trying to print barcodes for our inventory stock locations. Am I best using an arbitrary number which I associate to the SKU in our ERP or using the SKU itself? Also any advice on the best format for our needs.

  No need to re-invent the wheel as it were, if the SKUs are unique you could just use those. 

  Code 128 symbols probably the best for traditional barcode implementations
