Setting Up New Excel Database
Running Bartender 10.1 SR4, Automation Edition
I am trying to create a new Excel database for Bartender.
It has 4 columns, hence 4 fields. Each column has a title for the field name.
All formatted at text
When I try to setup the database in Bartender and press 'Test Connection', it comes up with the error;
BarTender Error message: # 6670
Failed to connect to database:
External table is not in the expected format
Probably a simple issue to fix, but I couldn't find the solution in this forum.

I have got it to work by saving as a .xls rather than a .xlsx file.
Does automation version 10.1 handle .xlsx databases?

You probably need to install the x86 version of the Microsoft Access Database Engine Redistributable. Note that you need the 32 bit (x86) version as BarTender is a 32 bit application. Also note that Excel uses this same database engine so don't get hung up on the name.
