Barcodes Directly in Excel

I am looking to create barcodes directly in Excel not using Excel sheet as a data source. I have used other products in the past that have an Add-in feature in Excel to change text in Excel to a Barcode is that not a feature with Bartender?

  BarTender is labelling software and not a barcode generator you can use inside Excel. There are ways within it, when you print a label, to write back the data, such as the barcode, to a database but that does not sound like what you are looking for
