installing a new license server

Hi,

we have an automation license and replacing the server that hosts the license server. i've already installed it on the new server but wondering what would happen if put in the product key on the new server. will i lose all my printers and other settings on the previous license server? any help is much appreciated.

  If you try to activate the licence on a new server you will get an error that the licence key code is still active.

  You could deactivate and then reactivate although the best way (if you are running 2019 or upwards) is to open Administration Console>Licencing on the server running the existing licence and then, when it finds the licence, right click on it and use the Move to option to move the licence to the new location,
