GS1-128 Barcode Printing/Scanning

When scanning a GS1-128 barcode with 2 AI's should the scanned data include the (AI) being displayed?

I am using BarTender 2016.

Example:

  As raw data the brackets do not appear in the scanned data and it will be your scanner that it is adding these in when it displays the code if it handles GS1-128/EAN-128 barcodes correctly. The brackets only appear on the label in the Human Readable and should not be encoded into the barcode itself
