Design On Laptop W/o Zebra Printer - Print From Connected Pc With Zebra Connection
I plan on upgrading two PCs that are both connected to Zebra 4ZM printers to Bartender 10.1 SR3 (build 2954) later this fall from 7.1. With this Upgrade I am redesigning all of our case labels in the new version from my laptop. My question evolves around the fact that my Laptop will not be connected to a Zebra Printer while designing the labels. I print to a HP Officejet Pro 8600 while setting up each label.
1) Do I need to load the Zebra print driver onto my laptop? Will this help with laying out the labels?
2) Is there a 'best method' for creating these labels on my laptop and then transitioning them over to the PCs connected to the Zebra printers without having to adjust the 'Page Set-up' when I move from printing on a HP Officejet to the Zebras? I don't want to have to make adjustments to each and every label.

Even though you can certainly do print tests with the HP printer, if the labels are meant to print on a Zebra printer you need to install the appropriate driver and make sure that these document are saved against it before moving them to your production computers.
Please note that many BarTender features depend entirely on the driver selected at design time (for instance you won't be able to specify a custom page and/or layout size from withing BarTender when working with the HP driver) so in order to avoid errors and re-configuring your documents make sure that the appropriate driver is selected when saving your document.

Thank you Fernando. I wondered if it wouldn't be as simple as installing the Zebra driver and then selecting the Zebra printer as the printer. Looks like I can Export as a jpeg which will work for the sample printing I need.

I probably didn't express myself properly, what you say is certainly possible, you can install the Zebra driver in your designing computer, select it in BarTender's "File>Print..." dialog and configure the page and layout setups appropriately. Saving that document with the Zebra driver will allow you to move the .btw file to your production environment and print without needing to re-configure anything.
