Installing Bartender In Multiple Locations

Hello,

 

We purchased Bartender Enterprise automation and our setup is as follows:

 

• We installed seagull license server on our server
• We have a computer that is connected to a label printer that has Bartender enterprise automation (this is NOT the same computer as above)
• We have Commander configured such that when we export data from our ERP, it gets automatically picked up by Commander and Bartender prints the appropriate label

Our issue at hand is that we have multiple warehouses on different locations. My question is, can we set up our second warehouse (on a different location) the same way so that when we export data from our ERP, Commander will automatically pick up the data and have Bartender print the appropriate label? We only have 1 license for seagull license server as far as I know. Is it possible to connect the computer in another location to the license server that we have here?

  There is no problem with this as both the Automation and Enterprise Automation editions are licensed by the number of printers you print to with BarTender rather than the number of computers on to which BarTender is installed and running.  All you need do is ensure that the second BarTender/Commander installation can connect to your License Server properly.  In BarTender, select the "Administer>Licensing Setup" menu item, disable the auto find feature, and instead enter the IP address or host name of the computer running License Server.

  Is there anyway to specify the license server in the silent install parameters?

  No, this is not supported.

   

  However the settings at stored in the BTLM.ini and SLS.ini text files at the below locations.  Modify the files as needed and then script the replacement of the default file on your clients.

   

  C:\ProgramData\Seagull\BarTender

  C:\ProgramData\Seagull\Seagull License Server
