GS1-128 Barcode - Production Date (11)

Good afternoon,

Is it possible to enter the production date (11) with just the month and the year?

If it is not possible, is it a problem if I write just the month and the year on the device label? Example: 02-2024.

  Yes and no.

  The date still needs to be 6 digits long and must be declared in the format YYMMDD however the day does not need to be specified and if it is not required you would need to use 00 for it instead but it is assumed to represent the end of the month. For the 31st January, for example, would normally me 240131 but could be declared as 240100 instead. 

  Although it is allowable for a Production Date (AI 11) the only times I can remember coming across this was for Best Before or Expiration Dates (AI 15 or 17 respectively)
