fastest way to print btw

We currently use version 2016 to print labels at client. our app creates a CSV file and uses bartentder .exe command line to print out label. 

We only open up bartender the first time and after that it remains hidden. Is this the fastest way to print or am i missing something? is using the SDK faster or slower? 

This process is slow and the client expects to print instantly (we tried fastReport and it works much much faster, client wants to switch) 

Is 2019-2021 faster or more bulky and slower?    

Also, what is the minimum we need to install at client?

  Have you tried using Integration Builder rather than a command line in a file?

  With that you would just have the data which could included the label format and printer to use etc
