I'm in the process of integrating BarTender 2022 to our SQL Server database, but I am running into a continuous problem. Occasionally, when I'm previewing or printing labels that are pulling data from the embedded database connection, I receive a timeout or a "connection lost" error. The SQL server is on the same local network, and there are not any problems with connectivity from other applications.

 

I have checked the connection string in BarTender and have successfully tested the connection to the database. However, during batch printing or when the system is under a heavier load, sometimes BarTender is not able to get the data in time. I have also adjusted the database timeout settings in Bartender's options, but the problem continues.

 

Also, just an interesting tidbit, while I was doing this research, I came across AI tools like ChatGPT. Out of my own curiosity, what is Chatgpt doing that is so successful in helping with technical questions like this? Could AI tools like that be used to troubleshoot BarTender configs faster?
