Performance while changing properties of a tag is very slow

Hello, I have a label that has several text fields in which I must make changes to its format. I must change in this case, from text to number.
The problem is that I have to change 100 of them and each change takes almost 1 minute for each one.
I have already changed my PC thinking that was the problem. I have installed it on a latest generation machine with a lot of memory and the same thing happens. This is really a problem since any changes I have to make will take forever.
Is there any recommendation?

  Sometimes it will take time to make adjustments to multiple label formats. 

  If all or alot of the labels are similar in layout, have you thought about looking to linking a label to a simple database with the data in it and so at print time you open the label, select the item you wish to print and that then populates the fields on the label and prints it?
