Unauthorized User
The situation is as follows ...
Myself with explicit allow rights to everything
An AD label group with rights to some but with no explicit deny rights
I installed a full version of BarTender Automation, activated it, attached it to the newly set-up BarTender database, and turned on system database security. I did this all on a computer that was logged in as a user that was [u][b]not[/b][/u] myself or part of the label group. After turning on security and restarting the main BarTender application I was stopped by the security which was the expected result. I attempted to open a few of the other applications such as Librarian and Commander and was stopped each time ... great so far. Then I attempted to open the Security Suit, and to my surprise I was able to open it and add users to it with no security checks.
I thought I could get around this by installing BarTender without the Security Suit, but as I suspected you are not even able to turn the security features on because they are applied to the computer the installation is on.
So my question is ... Is there a way to prevent users from messing with security and at the same time have security enabled on the machines?

Only users who are members of the Administrators group should be able to modify settings in Security Center. Are you sure the user you were testing with didn't have administrative privileges over the machine? 0 -
Sadly, most of the users are local admins. 0
