Component Seems Broken In 10.1

In ver 10.0 if i copied a component to a label template and made changes to the object the changes did not reflect back to the component. and this is the way it should work. the  component could be used as a basic starting point for multiple objects that share something in common.

 

In 10.1 when ever I Change anything on the object or a copy of the object or even a copy of the component all objects and components that are derived from one another would change as well.

  When you create a component then the component is what it is at time of creation.  When that component is then used on a label, and then modified in the label, it will not change the stored component.  Sorry but I disagree; it shouldn't work in the way you suggest, and indeed doesn't.  This has not changed, to my knowledge, in v10.1.
