Label Quality - Hand Grease Wear!
Hello All,
My company uses the Zebra gx430t (and Bartender 9) for serial number labels, and I'm at my wits end trying to troubleshoot the label quality issues.
We make a product that is handheld. As we get more products out in the field, the issue of the serial number label wearing off is becoming a bigger headache by the day. We have a backup serial # inside the battery compartment, but I can't blame end users for complaining that the label doesn't withstand basic operation.
The label is a silver mylar.
I'm not against upgrading the printer, the Bartender software, or changing the label... but I'd like a few more clues before I go down those roads.
Is there anything I can do within Bartender to improve the quality of the label? Can I slow it down? (speed is not an issue). I already switched to a black wax resin (from a blue ribbon). The label is a silver mylar.

Realistically any transfer media is going to experience what you're seeing, just due to the nature of the thermal transfer process.
In these applications getting a clear label to go over the actual printed label seems to be the prevalent idea, that way it's not affected by heat or friction.

You need resin ribbon instead of wax resin
