Danish Characters In Qrcode

Hello.

 

I am using a QR code with binary encoding and Unicode UTF-8 encoding.

 

However I am having some challenges with the danish characters æøå and some of the other characters.

 

In the QR code the letters

 

- æøå dissaperas

- "-" becomes "+"

- "_" becomes "?"

 

 

Is this a known problem?

 

Is there a known fix for this?

  Maybe you're better off with ANSI 1252 encoding...?  I suppose it depends on what your barcode reader is configured for.

  Thanks for the quick reply.

   

  I are now encoding with ANSI 1252. That seems to work.

   

  I can tell that my Motorola/Zebra DS-3508 can read the special danish fcharacters æøå and ÆØÅ from the QR-code.

   

  But I can only make that work when using the settings USB/HID keyboard Emulation/Emulate Keypad & Emulate Keypad with leading Zero in the configuration of the scanner when reading the QR code.

   

  However these settings (Emulate Keypad) makes the character trasferral to PC app very very slow.

   

  Any idears?

  No idea.  I suggest you get in touch with Zebra/Moto support, or one of their forums.  Unless of course someone else here knows.
