Upgrade from 9.75 to 11.5

I am replacing (not upgrading) from 9.75 Enterprise to 11.5.  I have the 11.5 application installed on Windows Server 2022.  The SQL 2019 instance is  on Windows Server 2022.

I created the database on the SQL instance as part of the system database manager with the intention to import the data from the backup of the old SQL 2008 database.  I have been unable to move the data in to the new SQL instance.  I have tried the fllowing: 

1. Import the data from the .bak in to the new database. 

2. Import the data directly from the old database

3. Export the old data from the old database in to the new database

4. Restored the backup from the old database server to the new database server (this results in the application requiring the database to be upgraded.  however the upgrade fails.)

5. Detach and attach the database from the old instance to the new

 

Any suggestions on what else I might be try would be welcome.  I am currently running under a trial license.  If the replacement solution cannot be easily installed and configured the intention is to move to a new solution other than Bartender.

  Are you trying to copy the BarTender System Database or a database instance containing your label data as these are completely different things? 

  The BarTender System Database just contains BarTender specific information such as printing and error logs, security/Librarian information etc (if you are using those).
