How to change barcode from notepad?

Hi,

our company works on an industrial control application which has to print out labels for each product we test. Previously we successfully worked with PRN files in which we only had to replace a value of a field to change a given barcode (and then send the file to the printer). I'm new to BarTender and I'm unsure how to do this cause it seems bartender embed the barcode image to the prn file so no matter if I change the field value the barcode remains the same.

Is there a solution for this in BarTender? (something tells me that for the data source of the barcode I should select "Printer code template field", but this is a guess only and I can't try it as this field is not allowed in the trial version)

  Nevermind, I have figured. The printer driver had to be downloaded from this site not from the manufacturer's of the printer. Once that was done printer properties >> symbology >> print method to select the right format.
