Got with a third party reseller that handles encoding for Walmart.  They gave me the proper settings to use for the CL4NX+ printer.  Going to mange the serialization a different way.

    Hi Tim,

I'm tackling a similar problem with permalocking tags for products intended for Walmart.

Would you be able to either share the solution that you found or share contact information for the reseller you worked with?

    Best Regards,

    Nate

Here are the settings we are using - I got these from Atlas RFID.  WM has accepted tags encoded this way.

On the Security tab under the RFID Encoder -

    Access Control
EPC/UII Block is set to Lock
    User block set to Open
TID is defaulted to Lock Permanently
Access Password and Kill Password set to Open.

    Access Password
    New Password set to Constant:

It varies by Chip. Ucode 9 is different than M730 or mR6 or Ucode8. I am trying ot get there with a ZT410 on a Ucode 9, not working.

Hi David, you are correct, to permalock a U9 or R6 chip, I use a different locking command. We insert the ZPL command ^RLM,P,P,P,P,P^FS for inlays with these chips. In Bartender we create an action list under the File->Bartender Document Options->General->Action List. We search for the ZPL string ^PQ1,0,1,Y then as a text Literal, we insert after ^RLM,P,P,P,P,P^FS.

Just a follow up on this.  We eventually had to move to U9 chips and they would not lock using the method we used to use.  We are also not using ZPL to printer, were using native SBPL on the Sato printers.  To fix, we had to update the drivers to 2023.3 to get Permanently Lock as an option, we updated Printer firmware (might not be required), We set all Access fields to Permanently Lock under Security, then under RFID/RAIN RFID - EPC/Encoder Options set the Encoder type as EPC Gen2 and the Tag Type as Monza R6.  Doing this will configure BarTender to send over the correct SBPL lock code format.  If it is left as Auto it will send over a different SBPL code that the labels do not like (it will cause Locking or Read/Write errors).

It is also possible to do something like Adam mentioned where you leave the setting as Auto, find the 'wrong' lock code (it may vary depending on what you lock) and insert the correct one but setting it to Monza R6 does it for you.
