GTIN-13 / GTIN-14
Hi.
I've got a customer who has a 13 digit GTIN i.e. it is actually a 12 digit GTIN + a check digit.
The issue I have is when building a barcode using GS1 standards, we require a packaging indicator (in this case its '9') in front of the GTIN.
So when the GTIN is created using the wizard, the check digit is not exactly what it was when it was calculated at 12 digits.
E.g. GTIN + check digit is 912345678912 + 8 = 9123456789128.
If I add this into a barcode + a prefix or additional data source of ‘9’, I get a different check digit (which is understandebly correct).
Is this possible using BarTender? Is there a way around it?
The expected outcome is to have the GTIN-13 with a 9 in the front. e.g. 99123456789128 but still follow GS1 compliance.
Any ideas?

It sounds like you are replacing the leading character and replacing that with the 9.
What type of barcode are you trying to print (what is is being used for) and what is the full 13 digit GTIN without the packaging prefix?
