    Hi Erik,

Is the delay just in Print Station or do you get the same issue in Designer too?

    Hi Peter!

This delay only occurs (or the significant delay) in print station. The sql query being used only pulls about 800 rows and is not complex.

Any thoughts? settings that can be manipulated?

I just encountered something similar with a multitable Access database but that was down to the network itself (two sites and one slower than the other).

If it is a viable option, you could enable the Repeat data entry until cancelled option in the label format (open the label in Designer and from the Print Screen click on the Options tab to access this then save the label afterwards). Make sure to add your database lookup/query/filter to a field on the Data Entry Form. With this ticked after they print a label run, Print Station will reopen at the Data Entry screen again rather than having the users to open the label from scratch.

This improved the overall performance  with my customer as they were printing some print runs from a few hundred upwards labels and so BT was ready to go again by the time the batch was finished.

We're finding this affects a number of our customers. Have you tried actioning tests within Bartender Designer to print your labels?
This will, for certain, ascertain where the issue lies. i.e. if it's still slow, then the database connections are the issue. But if it's like lightning, then Print Station is definitely the bottleneck.

We've designed our own version of Print Station that integrates with Bartender to alleviate the issues and we have no issues with speed (mainly because we control it)

Bartender as the engine doesn't seem to be the problem, more just the Print Station application.

If anyone would be interested in a conversation about this solution, that keeps your current Bartender instance but provides you with a printing UI that works, let me know - sales@kelgray.co.uk
