Moving BarTender Automation License from Windows 11 Desktop to Windows Server 2019 VM

Hello,

I am currently running BarTender Automation Edition (11.5.0) on a Windows 11 desktop, but I would like to move the license to a new Windows Server 2019 VM. Can I simply deactivate the license on the desktop and then activate it on the server VM using the same product key, or are there additional steps I need to follow when moving between Windows Desktop and Windows Server environments?

  You could leave the old licence running in place and install the software on the new machine and instead of using the Activate option at the end of the install, use the search for an existing licence and connect the new installation to the existing one. 

  After that, with admin rights, open Administration Console on the old desktop and from the Licencing section,  once the current licence detail are displayed, click on those and chose the Move to option to transfer the licence to the new server. Any other machines already connected to the old licence will then still be able to “see” the licence in its new location without any other action being required
