We have 5 Epson C7500 printers running in high-volume production using BarTender drivers (printing from labeling software using BarTender as the design tool). We recently purchased an Epson C8000 printer as we were informed by Epson that the C7500 was discontinued, and C8000 is the replacement.

When we print the current production design we use for the C7500 on the C8000 printer (both using 2025 BarTender drivers), the C8000 prints all label content ~3mm higher than the C7500. The only way we've been able to get the content aligned closer to the C7500 output is by adjusting the “Top Position” on the C8000 to +2mm (which is the maximum allowed). This brings all content to within 1mm of matching the C7500 output, but is still outside of the die cut areas. 

We've reset both printers to out-of-the-box state, and still have the same issue. The label stock is a Black mark die-cut label 10in in length. After calibrations are run on both C7500 and C8000 printers, both printers cut the dispensed label in the same position (indicating the black mark sensor in both printers are aligned).

We need to maintain the C7500 driver assigned in our current BarTender designs, when printing to the C8000 to allow for seamless design printing of ONE template between both printers. We expect the output to be the same between the 2 since we were informed the C8000 was the replacement, and both printers will be active in production at the same time.

I have a theory the “Gap Between Labels” setting, which is present in the C8000 BarTender driver settings (but is NOT present in the C7500 BarTender driver or on-printer settings) is still being applied to labels output from the C8000 printer despite the driver and printers all set to black mark detection. The minimum value for this setting is 3mm.

Any feedback on this issue would be much appreciated and highly valuable so we can get the C8000 printers running in production in a timely manner.
