Epson C7500 print driver resolution

The latest Seagull driver for the Epson C7500 7.4.2 has a maximum resolution of 600 x 600.  The printer is capable of printing 1200 x 600 at the lower speed. If I overide the driver setting and set the printer resolution to 1200 x 600 it changes the barcode to a rectangle regardless whether auto square is checked or not.  I am having trouble achieving a B grade GS1 barcode reading with the resolution set at 600 x 600.
