Why Does * At The Ends Of A Code 39 (Full Ascii) Read As /j?
I have set up a barcode label using Code 39 (full ASCII) and no matter which settings I change, when the barcode reads the asterisks read as /J. Why is this?

What is the data you're encoding? The full ASCII code 39 is only made for scanners that are set up to read full ASCII code 39. Otherwise, use regular Code 39 or use code 128 if you need to encode characters not supported by code 39.

We're printing barcodes for ASOS.com stock that we are sending to them, but in th emeantime I have the solution. They asked for an asterisk at the beginning because many of their suppliers use a font rather than proper software like bartender and so need a stop start character in order for the barcode to print correctly, but Bartender adds these in the setup and so when you add to the data it becomes **.
