Printers On Server/workstation
Hi,
We have installed BarTender Automatation (including SLS) on a server and we have several users that have installed BarTender on their workstation to generate and print labels from there.
We installed several Zebra network printers on the server but we do not see these printers when using BarTender on the workstations.
is it necessary to install every Zebra network printer locally or is there somethin I missed on the server to setup?
Regards,
Sjoerd

I believe so, we have all of our printers installed on the server but they would still need adding to the individual workstation.
I'm not sure what Zebra printers are or how they work but normally when you add printer to workstation, select the printer you want from the server and set as default, when you next open bartender, printing should default to printer you added (which is basically pointing to the server)
Hope that helps
Regards
Ryan

BarTender uses the same standard Windows printer driver model as does Microsoft Word. If you install a bunch of printers on a server, and then share them to the network, you would then need to connect to those shares from your client workstation computers. One way to do this is open Windows Explorer on the workstation, enter the name of the server in the address bar (using this syntax: \\ServerName) and then right click on a shared printer that you wish to have installed on the client and select "Connect". This will install the client instance of the driver on the workstation computer that applications on that computer can then use to print.
