Global Data Field Serialization Resetting

    From BarTender 10.1, reset serial number has been greatly improved and it supports reset serial number daily / weekly / yearly etc, along with specific database / named data source / object value changed etc.

    Which can be accessed from Transform > Serialization (properties button at right)> Reset tab.

    Hello,

     

    Many thanks for reply. I am using the newest version of Bartender ( 10.1 SR3 build 2954 ). If I try to access to serialization on "named data field" this option is deactivated. If I try to access to serialization directly on "global data field" now "serialization" is accessible but the option "data field" is inactivated and if I am using option "calendar and clock options" set on minute resetting nothing happens. Serialization still continue even if I am waiting several minutes.

    Hi Martin,

    My apology that I didn't pick the title properly - yes, on BT10.1 up to SR3, Global Data Field doesn't reset by date/time condition.

    This is known issue and planned to be fixed in future version.

    At the moment I don't have a good alternative as Global data field doesn't have VB script and it's read only.

     

    What could be remotely close is read last printed serial no. from database at beginning of job by VBScript OnPrintStart Event, and write back serial no. to database table by onPrintEnd Event.

    However it doesn't assure uniqueness of serial no. at simultaneous printing of same serial no. as Global Data Field does.

    Hi Shotaro,

     

    Thank you for your reply. Do you consider fix this issue via Bartender update and do not wait for new version? This funcionality is my eyes really important and if the software offer this choice, should be working.

    The issue has been fixed in BarTender 10.1SR4 (I should have noted that on this thread). Please update to 10.1SR4 and try.
