A barcode can be alphanumeric also ... is there a reason you are only printing the numbers portion?

No, not at all, maybe it was the type of barcode I chose (UPC-A)?  To be honest, I don't know why only the number portion is appearing underneath my barcode.

UPC-A does only support numeric values.  You'd need to get a barcode type that supports alphanumeric (like Code128 or the like) to encode that string.

Thanks, I think that's what I'm looking for.  Pardon my ignorance here, but I assume barcode readers don't usually have an issue reading alphanumeric codes?  We're submitting products to Amazon and they require barcodes and I just want to make sure generally Code128's are standard barcodes?

Mike was referring to the barcode symbology itself, rather than the reader hardware being used.  The barcode symbology UPC-A is a numeric only barcode for special purposes.  The Code 128 barcode symbology is a very popular general purpose barcode symbology, which just about any barcode scanner should support.
