Database Selection Prompt
My labels are set up so that when i hit print i am prompted to enter data and it will pull the records from microsoft access database. This is the steps:
open label->hit print-->(use database is selected) hit ok-->I enter data number-->
then a prompt comes up that tells me to select the database. I hit help and it says "If no database is provided at setup, you will be prompted to select a database file when connecting to the data source". We just upgraded to Bar tender professional 10.0. In a previous version of bartender this prompt never came up.
How do i get rid of this prompt? I checked my "database setup" and it IS setup, so i dont understand why i have to select it again.
any help?
thanks

Hi Kay,
Perhaps at opening format, the format attempts to connect database using your query prompt input, however since when that's empty(NULL), that causing database error.
(From BarTender 9.4, BarTender shows selected database value on design view instead of "Sheet1.Field1" etc - which can be disabled by record toolbar's connection icon at the bottom)
In Database setup > query, go query prompt and in the query prompt's datasource option > Characters, set minimum to 1 character and set '0' as pad character.0 -
Thanks for the help. It was slightly different path for my version.
For anyone else who wants help with this, this is the path:
Database connection setup->Click the options tab->click setup->Select->Select database file you want.
Since i already had all my labels setup for this database, I only had to go into database setup once and it changed it for all the labels.
Thanks again for the help.0
