You only need to have BarTender and the .NET SDK components installed to be able to use the SDk.

    Hi Mike.

    Thank you for your response.

Actually, that was not my question. I would like to know if Bartender must be installed on a client computer in order to print label or not. I would not like to install Bartender on clients only for printing (not designing labels). I guess there is a simple way, maybe just using a few DLL on the client, to print with no Bartender Suite installed.

    I hope it's possible.

    Regards.

    Benjamin.

If you're developing a standard Windows application where all the code runs on the same PC, then BarTender is a must. At print time, it is BarTender which generates the printer code for you and sends it to the printer so you cannot run without it.

In the Enterprise Automation Edition of BarTender you've the possibility of developing a client-server implementation. There would be a server side (where BarTender would reside), and a client site (e.g. a web browser). We've a close solution which uses this architecture called BT-WPS (BarTender Web Print Server). The client side just needs an internet browser and to install some ActiveX / Java applets in order to perform "Internet Printing" (printing to a computer which is only available to the client side, not to the server one). Installing printer drivers on the client side is optional:
