Turn off security center on the local computer or give the user permissions within Security center.

    That is my first guess

The username/password thing is a known issue (unhelpful message) that comes up when BarTender is unable to find the database file in question.  We plan on being more helpful in this message in a future release.

Therefore, you'd need to make sure that the PC that you're now running the BarTender software on has permission/access to get to the database file in question.  For example, was the connection to the database file made using a universal path, or did you specify a path that only works on the original computer, but not on anyone elses?  For example, if you specified a file path of "C:\Database" for the document, then the document will only find the database if the database is found on that same local folder on the new PC you're using.

Note: When you create your document in BarTender 2016 I suggest you name your database connection so that it may be reused by either different users or different documents.
