Is Quickbooks based on a database engine of some kind? BarTender can connect to databases via ODBC or OLE DB. See the below tutorial videos which explain the concept.

How do I get the professional version to connect to quickbooks enterprise to create the labels and barcodes from the inventory so my scanner can read and update the inventory?

Quickbooks requires a separate ODBC driver for external connectivity to their databases. You'll want to get in contact with them to get information about where to obtain that driver. Once you've gotten that, you can connect to it using our database connection setup wizard, then selecting ODBC.

You can search google for 'quickbooks odbc driver' to find the different ones that are available for purchase. From the Quickbooks forums it looks like QODBC is the one that is most commonly used.
