Sending A 180° Rotated Label To Another Printer With One Label
Hello.
We have currently two layouts for the same label, one of the is a 180° rotated exact replica of the other one.
We send the "original label" to PRINTER1 and the rotated label to PRINTER2 at the same time with two CSV text files.
We currently do this trick as we have to print a label on each side of a box, and we don't have a choice.
Rather than managing two separate layouts, I was wondering if it would be possible to ask for a rotated label on Printer 2 directly from the CSV text file.
Maybe there is another way to achieve such a thing, I cannot imagine we are the only one to face this issue.
Thank a lot for any information.

Assuming you have a recent version of BarTender, under the "Page" Tab of the BarTender "Page Setup" dialog, tick the "Separate design for front and back of template" checkbox, and also the "Rotate backside of template by 180" checkbox. On a non-duplex printer this will result in two labels being printed, with the second label being printed upside down. Note, that instead of using two documents, you'll now use two templates (front and back), so there will still be two label layouts to design.

I don't think this solves the problem. If we have to create two templates - even if they are in the same file, there is a danger that the designer will make a mistake in one or the other and they will not be identical as they should be. It would work much better if we could expose the rotation option somehow in the integration which would allow us to conditionally rotate it based on the printer configuration, location in the robot, customer requirement, or whatever. I think it is unreasonable to maintain two versions of the same label just to turn it upside down.
Also, the option mentioned for sure does not solve the issue since there seems to be no way to conditionally control when to print the "front" or "back" of the label. Since those are printing on two different printers in the OP's question, they would have to be two different, separately controlled templates with different "print when" settings - print template 1 when the printer is "Printer1" and print template 2 (the upside down one) when the printer is "Printer2".
I would like to request an improvement to expose the document rotation - at least the 180 degree options - to be exposed in the "print" option in the integration builder.

In more recent years you can use just regular templates (not the front/back duplex templates) with the conditional print enabled, so that the right template prints according to which printer is being printed to for the print job. It is in the feature request wish list to be able to set Page Setup properties via automation more easily, such as via the Integration Builder.
