Printing More Than 255 Character From 1 Field

Hello, I am working with BarTender version 9.4 SR3. To print labels I have a OLE DB connection to a *.xlsx file in Excel Office 2007. The OS of the PC is Windows XP Professional 5.1 SP3. Some fields have more than 255 characters. It seems that 255 is the limit. Is there a way to increase that limit?

  Unfortunately not. That's a limitation from the OLE driver from Excel, not from the BarTender application. So even though the field itself can contain more than that number of characters, the OLE driver won't pass more than 255 characters across.

  Thanks Guru,

  I found a document to concatenate 2 fields from excel in BarTender. Before making modifications on this PC, I try to reproduce the problem on an other PC, also with WindowXP but with excel 2002. So first saving the excel file as format xls instead of xlsx.

   

  Now the field with more than 255 characters is printed. Are there OLE drivers that can pass more than 255 characters? Or are there other ways to print more than 255 characters?

  Problem is solved by using more than 255 characters in the first record.
