Clearing Internal Avery Printer Queue Within Bartender Lay-Out
Dear support,
We currently have an urgent issue with our production system.
System: BarTender Auotomation version 10.0 SR4.
Server: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 X64
Problem description:
We have a Avery ALX924 in our production system which has to print unlimited amount (= 50000) of labels because we don't know how much labels need to be printed. The issue here right now is that we want to clear the current printing job in the printer with a command that we can sent in the layout file. We already use this principle in another plant and that works great (with Intermec printers). But for some reason this won't work with our Avery printer.
The command that we have is #!A1#!CA#!P1#G and this is the correct command. If we sent an empty layout file with this command in it it will clear all the current printer jobs in the internal queue of the Avery printer. But if we put this together with the layout file it doesn't send the layout. It just clears the printer and that's it. It doesn't start with the new job.
You can find screenshots of the setup below.
You can find the lay-out file and text file as attachment. We print on Avery ALX924 with the latest drivers installed.
Thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards, Lode

Try setting the Function character to none.
BTW: In BarTender v10.1 onwards we added support for unlimited printing feature together with cancelling the currently running print job. I don't know for sure, off the top of my head if this includes your Avery printer, but I'd imagine it does.

Thanks for your reply but this did not help.
