Upgrade Label From 9.2 To 10.0
Hi,
We have both version 9.2 and version 10.0 of BarTender.
I am trying to test the label we made in version 9.2 on version 10, but I keep getting error 66 when accessing the "Data Entry Form" and try to bring up any of the item properties.
The message just keeps repeating itself, when I click on ok
Am I missing something... Do I need to do something specific to upgrade my label ?
I don't want to redesign the entire thing.
Thanks
Ron

Hi Ron,
That shouldn't be happening at all. I'd recommend you contact your closest support office or attache your label format here so that we can take a look at it.
Thanks0 -

Hmmm, I didn't get the error you report while using BarTender v10.0 SR1 (build 2845) on a Windows 7 computer. Also, I'm not familiar with error 66, is that a Windows system error, can you attach a screen shot of it? 0 -

I tested that label here in version 10.0 SR1, and I did not receive any errors.
You may have to contact us after all so we can take a closer look at you setup.0 -

Attached is the screen shot of the error, and the version.

Okay, I can see what is happening now. The error message is actually #6672 which signifies that the object selected does not have an object name specified. When opening the properties of the object, if you don't then specify a name for the object (via the top node), before attempting to close, then you will get this message.
Selecting items on the prompt form to view their properties is tricky because the form control is often grouped with a label text object making it two objects for one selection. You can workaround this by ungrouping the items first before then opening the properties and specifying an object name.
If you close the properties dialog without giving a share name for each selected object, we then get into an endless loop of the #6672 error message.
Obviously none of this is ideal behaviour, so I will be submitting a report to development to stop this from happening in the future.0 -
One I added the names to all the objects, I was able to use the label without errors
Thanks
