Which version of BarTender do you have?  This is important to know as you might not need to use VB script at all.  Do you have multiple picture objects on the label design where one or more of those objects will use/display an image on the printed label?  If the field contains "A,B" for example what do you want to happen?  The picture object for this example use the "A.png" or the "B.png", or a "AB.png"?  Please clarify?

Hi ian, i have the most recent version with automation feature.

i need to display multiple images based on the content of the database field. so if field contains A,B,C,E then it should display A.png B.png C.png E.png next to each other in line. AB.png does not excist so no combinations of letters. Each letter need to show a different image.

Could it be the case that the label you're trying to produce is a GHS chemical transport label?  I ask as this has a very similar requirement to what you're asking vis a vie the representation of the GHS pictograms per chemical product.  I would suggest you take a look at the GHS sample document and read through the white paper that accompanies it for how to best implement the document in a real world example.

At the least it should give you a good idea as to how you could go about things if this isn't for a GHS label.
