Preview Of Printed Item Of Two Templates In Data Entry Form
Hi, maybe anyone can help me with this (annoying) issue.
I have created two templates each with a different background in one bartender document. The right template is printed based on a condition in my database. Only 1 template of the 2 is printed, never both.
I have also added a picture in the data entry form which should show the preview of the printed item. This works fine but it does not show the right background based on the condition whether to print the first or second template.
Anyone got an idea to fix this? Im thinking of a solution to add two pictures of the preview item then hide (or set position off the screen) one using vb in the bartender document options but i have no idea what the code might be and if it would work.

Unfortunately the preview image of a particular template layout can only be specified at design time. We do not yet support the dynamic display of the preview image based on which template will be conditionally printing.

Thank you Ian, i then assume i cannot control the visibility of the preview image based on a database value in the document properties?

No, the preview image in the data entry form can only be selected at design time, choosing the template to display by name. There is no way to dynamically change it based of data source value or values entered into the data entry from.

Hi Ian, looks like this is also still the case in version 11.0.8. Correct?
There is a workaround available but that becomes labor intensive when many templates in one document:
Make for each template a data entry form - all exactly the same with expection of
- the preview image template name.
- and in the form Show when making a condition using the value from the database that represents the template name.
