    Hello,

This can certainly be done in BarTender, you only need to set the prefix as an extra data source and remove its visibility for the human readable text.

You can control the human readable visibility per data source opening the barcode's properties, accessing the "Human Readable" node, selecting the "Set by Data Source" option and clicking on the "Select..." button (see the attached image).

    Hi,

I don't show the "set by Data Source" option, do I not have the proper version of the software?

    Thanks.

This feature requires at least the Professional edition, if you have the Basic you won't have access to it.

    Cheers.

    Fernando, or any other expert:

I am trying to hid the prefix parenthesis information associated with a GS1 barcode. When I follow your instructions and hide the prefix, it completely throws off the entire format of the human readable. Can this be accomplished without messing with the formatting?

    Hello JordanM,

Could you please clarify what you mean when saying that the format is messed up when hiding the first Application identifier (AI)? With the above option it should only "hide" the AI, the rest should stay the same, only centered. Attached you'll find an example of the same barcode with and without the first AI, isn't this what you get?

In any case, could you let me know why would you want to hide an AI from a GS1 barcode?

    Regards.

Hi. This is exactly what I am trying to do as well. We do have the professional version of Bartender. I do see the "set by data source" option, but I am unsure what to do from there. I apologize as I am fairly new to Bartender. Thanks.
