Serializing Only Last Number

I am wanting to create a barcode that I can serialize only the last number of that barcode?? the first 8 characters, which are numbers as well, is the part number of the part. but i'm needing to add one more number and make that one serialized. i am using bartender version 9.4? any help would be grateful! Chad

  Hello Chad,

   

  You will need to create two sub-strings on the same bar code object, one for the part number and the second one for the serialized number. Do this by double-clicking on the bar code to open its properties, select the "Data Source" tab and now create two sub-strings on the left (you just need to right click and select "New" for creating a new sub-string). Now select the second sub-string (the one for the serial number), and click on the "More Options..." button. Choose the "Serialization" tab and enable the "Serialize" option. Configure your serial number. 

   

  The first of your sub-strings will now be used for the part number and the second one has been configured for the serial number.

   

  This applies to BT v9.4 and earlier versions. In BT v10.0, due to the changes in the UI, rather than sub-strings, you would be creating separate "Data Sources".
