Verify Database Field To Open The Data Enter Form

i would like to make a script
it will verify the datebase filed number, when then the number is matched, it will open up the data enter form
is that possible

Wouldn't you just set up a query prompt that will take in user data for a matching record, and also have additional data entry input for other data values to be set?
