New To Program
I have an excel file with an item code and description along with the pack weight and standard units per pallet that I would like to create a label for.
I need the employee to scan or manually enter the item, and make sure this matches with a known product number from the database, so compare script or find query?? Once they have entered a valid item I would like the description and case weight from the database to automatically fill in on the label. The employee would then type or scan in the lot number and the number of cases produced for that item. Additionally I would like to have the system verify that the number of cases the employee enters is not over the max number of cases per pallet on the database.
I am having some difficulty trying to find the correct code on how to accomplish this. I have watched all the videos and scoured the message boards but when I find a post that looks promising the poster usually ends the discussion with "I figured it out myself." It is just frustrating because I can only find how to manually select print records at the time of print. We do not want the employee to be able to change or alter the template in anyway and chose Bartender based on the print station feature. The goal was to have our production manager create a "master label" at the pallet station that the employee could scan and enter the number of units on the pallet to get a new label printed to attach to the product, and not have to manually enter anything else.
Can someone please help?

The part where a user types or scans a product number would be called your Query Prompt. You can find out about that by watching the last half of this video: http://www.seagullscientific.com/label-software/training-video-(selecting-records-from-a-database-at-print-time).aspx
The part where the user manually types or scans additional data to print is called your Data Entry Form, and you can learn how to link specific fields to the Data Entry form from here: http://www.seagullscientific.com/label-software/training-video-(data-entry-at-print-time).aspx
