Printing work weight when images in btw
Hello,
We are having a problem using the Bartender software.
This is called by webservices by software published by one of our service providers.
A json is generated on the fly before printing and this file is sent to Bartender for printing.
We have created the print templates (.btw) according to the different desired formats (A4, A5 or small labels for pins in store)
Some of these models contain images in jpg format.
We noticed that the print jobs sent to the printer were much larger than what the model actually contains.
Example: For a small label template, an image of 10 or 20 KB generates a print job of several MB.
While the other fields in the template are just text.
By the way, by removing the image from the model, the print job drops to a few KB.
Same thing for another template: We duplicated the template to change only one target image.
In the first model, the image weighs 100 KB, in the second model it weighs 10 KB.
The edition of 15 labels of the first model gives a job of 14.4MB.
The edition of 15 labels of the second model gives a job of 11.5MB. So a very small decrease while the image is ten times lighter.
We have raised the issue with the software vendor and have a lead on the drivers used.
Our shop printers are RICOH IM C300 and apparently no Seagull driver exists for these printers.
My question is therefore the following: Is the Bartender software suitable for our editions, namely models containing one or more images of around 100 KB?
Or there is a trick to reduce the weight of the print job.
Thank you for your answers.
Philippe
