Bartender prints first label blank after power down on Citizen CLP521
Hello, on Citizen CLP521 Bartender prints first label blank after power down. As I understand the printer checks where the start of the label is, but can't this be turned off if I never remove / change paper ?

I believe that will be the printer itself trying to find the correct start of print position. Not sure on the Citizen but on some devices you can disable this via a front panel option but then this can cause the first label to be printed incorrectly as it starts part way through the label and only looks for the gap/mark after it has printed the first label.
I would suggest when you power up or reload the paper that you feed a label first to make sure the device is in the correct position to start printing.

Your reply makes no sense at all, the Bartender overrides all config of the printer including label size etc. The printer has no CMOS battery I checked photos of motherboard online. There is no need for it to check media label lenght as it is set in bartender, as gap size etc.
Why does it want to measure label size be feeding one label after after power down? It does not do this if left on, but that is not what I need. I rarely use it, and wasting one label each time is nonsense

As mentioned above that sounds like a setting in the printer and not BarTender. The printer will be getting commands to print the label fields at location X,Y distance from the label home position but it wont know where the label home position is anymore as the device was powered down and it looks to be trying to find that first to be able to print the fields correctly. You may want to check through the menu settings to see if there is an option to disable this.
