If a BarTender client is not able to locate a Seagull License Server (SLS) of equal or greater version after configuring it manually to the SLS host IP and assigned port number, and other BarTender clients are able to communicate with that SLS instance successfully using the same configuration, then the problem lies on the network. You could use a network analyzer, like Wireshark, to determine the cause of the communication deficiency. Remember the SLS uses UDP protocol, and communicates over port 5160 by default.

    Thanks, Stephen.

I had the user install 10.1, which is now running in parallel with 7.1. On 10.1 on their PC they can reach my license server, but on 7.1 keep having the same issue. Is 10.1 absolutely able to support 7.1?
