Form Autocomplete

I forgot to add that this behavior is observed if I use a drop down list with text input active (which is my workaround for now so that you don't need to know the item number completely from memory and can find it in a list if necessary).

Also, the form is necessary as there are other text input boxes that may need filled out to populate other parts of the label.

Also, I just noticed the drop down list truncates results. It shows all results if you edit the properties and then preview. But if you save the project and re-open it to preview the form, the drop down list is truncated.

I remember seeing a similar Autocomplete issue when printing via Print Station with an older version of BarTender where it worked in Designer, but I think that was corrected in a later release. If you have not already done so I would suggest you making sure you are using the latest release for you version of the software you are using and see if that does anything.

What happens if you set the input field as a text input box linked to a Database and connect to the field that includes your search parameter?

    Hi Pete,

    Thanks for replying!

The whole autocomplete function is a bit of hit and miss.
I'm on 2021 R7 version of the build.

I have one label that the autocomplete is working on with a dropdown list and text input enabled but all of my other labels (whether it uses text input box linked to query or dropdown list with text input enabled linked to the query) have autocomplete issues.

I thought it was that this label had an inner join on another table which was limiting the results, but there are other labels that have two tables joined and are having the autocomplete issue. I also tested with a truncated sample table (I was sending a sample to Support so they could take a look) and the autocomplete issue was still present.

I was told by support that they are working on this issue and will update me via email when they have something.

Until then my workaround is reverting back to a text input box linked to my filter and query prompt, and placing a record picker below that reacts to the input.
